"European Telecoms 2000- Competitive Dynamics"

November 1, 2000 Hamburg, Germany

Michael Potter, Director of Paradigm Ventures, presenting a speech on European DSL argues, "If Europe intends to successfully compete in the global information economy, broadband telecommunications is as necessary as oxygen.  In the US today there are over 5 million broadband users.  Today in Germany there are 600,000 and in the UK by April 2001 there will be less then 30,000.  Those countries that have encouraged raid absorption of broadband development technology will be tomorrow's leaders in broadband video streaming, software, hardware and commerce."
